Amazon Key In-Car Delivery

Have you ever wished there was a more secure way to have packages delivered to you while you weren’t at home? Amazon has a convenient answer to your needs if you drive a vehicle under the Chevrolet, GMC, Buick, or Cadillac brand names, are an Amazon Prime member, and have an active OnStar® account. Amazon and GM have teamed up to offer GM customers the Amazon Key In-Car Delivery option, which allows Amazon to deliver packages directly to your vehicle.

Deliveries are only able to be made to publicly-accessible vehicles, such as those parked on the streets outside of apartment complexes, workplace parking lots, or driveways. And the Amazon Key In-Car Delivery is easy to set up — all you have to do is download the Amazon Key app and opt to link your Amazon and OnStar® accounts. Once that’s done, it’s as simple as selecting the “In-Car” option at checkout when ordering packages off of Amazon.

Afterwards, the package, when delivered, will be securely placed inside your vehicle utilizing OnStar® technology. The app will also notify you when the package is delivered and the car re-locked.

He also expressed excitement at working with General Motors to bring this technology to the vehicles produced under the Chevrolet, GMC, Buick, and Cadillac brand names in order to provide more secure and accessible options to Amazon customers everywhere.

The technology will be available on over seven million different vehicles in 37 U.S. cities and their surrounding areas. The two companies have plans to roll out the Amazon Key In-Car Delivery technology in other locations worldwide, too. As mentioned above, the Amazon Key delivery option will be available at no extra cost on shipping when ordering from Amazon.
